Biography

A brand of the Dowst Brothers Company of Chicago, Tootsietoy produced inexpensive die-cast metal dollhouse furniture sets in roughly 1/2 inch scale, sold in boxed room groupings through the 1920s and 1930s. The pieces are durable collector favorites today.

Maker's Mark

Look on the underside of pieces for the raised cast wording "TOOTSIETOY" or "TOOTSIETOY MADE IN U.S.A." Many room sets are also identified only by the original printed box rather than a mark on each piece.
